Rice Fields of Sapa, Vietnam

My name is Garry. I left Canada in 2013 on an indefinite journey around the world. I left my home, my family, my friends, and my career for an unknown life on the road. Everyone thought I was crazy but I thought it would have been crazy not to go. Travelling the world had been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and waiting for “the right moment” just wasn’t working out. Not until I realized that there is no such thing as “the right moment”.

So I packed my bags, sold most of my worldly possessions (whatever I couldn’t fit into a 60 litre backpack), quit my job, and left on a one way ticket to Japan to begin my journey. Over 100 cities and 40 countries later, I’ve met incredible people, experienced amazing cultures, and learned tons of useful tips and secrets about the places I’ve explored.

Through out my travels, I’ve discovered that I love sharing the stories, experiences, and knowledge that I’ve gained with the people in my life – it helps me relive all those amazing moments all over again. So, I decided to create this website to share everything I know and everything I’ve seen. I hope you like it, find it useful, and, most importantly, get inspired to just get out there and travel.

We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.
